Please read these terms carefully before using the Upali Newspapers Private Limited E-Paper Portal.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing, browsing, or subscribing to the E-Paper Portal provided by Upali Newspapers Private Limited ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and all applicable laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue use of our services immediately.

2. Digital Services & Usage License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to access and view the digital newspapers (PDFs) for your personal, non-commercial use only.

  • You may download copies for offline reading on your personal devices.
  • You may not share, distribute, print, reproduce, or sell any downloaded content (PDFs, Images, Text) via email, social media (WhatsApp, Facebook, etc.), or any other medium.
  • Violation of this clause constitutes an infringement of our copyright under the Intellectual Property Act No. 36 of 2003.

3. Subscription & Payments

3.1. Pricing: All subscription prices are listed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). We reserve the right to change pricing at any time, but such changes will not affect active subscriptions until their renewal date.

3.2. Payments: Online payments are processed securely via PayHere. We do not store your credit card details on our servers. By making a payment, you agree to PayHere's terms of service.

3.3. Refunds: Due to the digital nature of our content (instant access), all sales are final. We do not offer refunds for partial months or unused subscriptions unless required by law or in cases of technical failure on our part.

4. User Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to terminate or suspend accounts that are found to be sharing login details or distributing content illegally.

5. Limitation of Liability

While we strive to ensure the accuracy of our news and the availability of our portal, Upali Newspapers Private Limited shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Errors or omissions in the content.
  • Technical interruptions, server downtime, or data loss.
  • Unauthorized access to your personal data (despite our adherence to standard security protocols).

6. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Sri Lanka. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Colombo.
